Description

Heir to Moon's Secret is a story about a boy who wakes to find himself in a strange place with no memory of how he got there. The people he meets all look drastically different than him, and though he befriends them, they can provide no answers about the people to whom he belongs.

Before he has a chance to learn much more than the language of this strange place, gruesome murders and kidnappings thrust him into a life or death adventure, pursued by a secret society bent on his destruction. As he tries to save those he cares about and figure out who he is, he uncovers his deep and sinister connection to the people and this world, and discovers surprising facts about himself.

Concept Origin

This all started, as is often the case, with a thought experiment. I was thinking that of all the myriad species on the planet Earth, it’s strange that only humans have evolved so far. One might think that since all species have been given equal time to evolve, they might have reached similar levels of advancement. While I realized my logic was entirely faulty, it was still a fun idea, and one not easily forgotten. So, I continued thinking what if, what if humans weren’t the only species to reach a human level of sentience? What if other mammals had reached a bipedal form? This of course led to the thought: well, why don’t we see those other evolved species on Earth? This was the genesis of the characters and general concept of Heir to Moon’s Secret. And if there are still some problems and logical fallacies, well this is, after all, a work of fiction.
